This series was shot by photographer Benjamin McMahon for AnOther magazine this fall. In the 4 day epic “Journey of senses” we visited different locations is Iceland that inspired the new ANDREA MAACK fragrance collection that we are launching this spring.

In my new perfume studio I´m always looking for new Icelandic raw ingredients to get inspired by. I took my team on a quest to see what we could find in the winter time and how Icelandic products can smell different each season. We also have to keep in mind how fragrances change during the day and in different climates. We also want to convey the Andrea Maack perfumes online, so we are posing the question is what is the best way to smell something through visuals only?

The making of “ICED FLOWERS”

Yet all experience is an arch wherethro’
Gleams that untravell’d world whose margin fades
For ever and forever when I move.
How dull it is to pause, to make an end,
To rust unburnish’d, not to shine in use!
As tho’ to breathe were life! Life piled on life
Were all too little, and of one to me
Little remains: but every hour is saved
From that eternal silence, something more,
A bringer of new things; and vile it were
For some three suns to store and hoard myself,
And this gray spirit yearning in desire
To follow knowledge like a sinking star,
Beyond the utmost bound of human thought."
